History of Bodrum
Bodrum, located on the southwestern coast of Turkey, has a rich and diverse history dating back to ancient times. Originally known as Halicarnassus, it was an important city in the Carian region and later became a prominent center during the Persian Empire. In the 4th century BCE, it was ruled by King Mausolus, whose tomb, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The city flourished under his reign and continued to be a significant cultural and commercial hub in the Hellenistic period following Alexander the Great's conquests.
During the Byzantine era, Halicarnassus experienced decline but regained importance in the Middle Ages under the Knights Hospitaller, who built the iconic Bodrum Castle in the early 15th century. This fortress, constructed using stones from the ruins of the Mausoleum, became a key defensive stronghold and a symbol of the town. The Ottomans captured Bodrum in 1522, integrating it into their empire. In modern times, Bodrum has transformed into a vibrant tourist destination known for its historical landmarks, picturesque beaches, and lively nightlife, blending its ancient heritage with contemporary charm.

I cannot speak highly enough about our 3 week trip to this place and the services provided by this travel company. Everything was seamless. The private guides were interesting and knowledgable. We felt that they were more than just guides. It was like we had a friend in each city.

My fiance and I had never been to Europe, but wanted to plan a unique elopement trip to this place. We had no idea where to start, and turned to some internet research to find the services of this agency and eventually connect with the team at this travel agency. From the first email exchange, we knew that our travel consultant and her team would be our travel company.
